How can we help?

Add, Edit, or Delete a Theme

System Administrators can rebrand their Case IQ application on the Themes page by creating different color designs for navigation options, grids, highlights, and more. The theme functionality allows you to create multiple themes and all users can choose their preferred theme on their user profile.

You can update all themes, except themes that are marked with at least one of the following statuses:

  • Default: the default theme will load for a user that has not specified a theme on their user profile. There must be one default theme, so if you want to edit the design of the default theme, you must mark another theme as the default.
  • Read only: indicates a bundled theme with your application deployment. Read only themes cannot be modified or removed after they have been imported. They can also be marked as the default theme.

You can add, update, and remove all other themes. Navigate to the Themes page by selecting the “Themes” option on the System tab.

Themes page in Settings under the System tab.

Add a Theme

To add a new theme, click the Add Theme button on the Themes page. On the New Theme form, complete the following fields:

  • Name: type in a name for the theme.
  • Description: enter text to let the user know what the theme looks like.
  • Default: choose if the theme will be the default option for users.
  • Logo: upload an image file of your organization logo, which will be displayed in the upper right of the application. It is recommended you crop your organization logo prior to saving the theme.
  • Colors: choose the colors to display for application elements. See a list of the page elements controlled by each color field below:
    • Primary: main action buttons, top bar, highlights around input buttons, and loading spinner.
    • Accent: sidebar menu highlights, hover over tabs and links, and grid row highlights.
    • Complementary1: default buttons and subsection dropdown menus.
    • Complementary2: secondary menus.

When you have completed the New Theme form, click Save

Once the theme is added, users will be able to select the theme on their user profile (see Change Account Settings on Profile Page). The theme shown in the New Theme form example above will look like the following screenshot when set as the application theme for the user:

Edit a Theme

System Administrators can update Themes at any time from the theme's page:

  1. Click the Edit button.
  2. The theme's page will now be in edit mode. Use the text boxes, checkbox, or color pickers to update the Theme's form fields. To replace the theme's logo, click the "x Remove" under the logo image, then drag-and-drop or browse for a new file to upload in the logo box.
  3. When you have completed your changes, click the Save button.

Delete a Theme

If you need to permanently remove a theme, you can delete it from the theme's page directly. Click the Delete button at the top right of the page.

Make sure that the theme is not the default before trying to delete it. If the theme is the current default, set another theme as the default before deleting the original theme.
