How can we help?

Add a User Account

You can add accounts for users in Case IQ using the New User form. Under the Access tab, select “Users” from the page dropdown menu. Then click the Add User button to load the New User Form.

Complete the required New User form fields and any additional necessary user information. See a description of each New User form field in the list below:

  • SSO User: you will only see the "SSO User" checkbox on the New User form if your application has an SSO integration. See the Single Sign On (SSO) article for details on setting up an SSO integration.
    • If "Auto User Provisioning" is disabled in your SSO settings, use the "SSO User" checkbox to indicate if the user has an account in your identity provider to which this Case IQ account should be connected.
    • If "Auto User Provisioning" is enabled, Case IQ will automatically create accounts for users the first time they sign in to Case IQ via SSO. This means you do not need to manually add Case IQ accounts for your users that have accounts in your identity provider.
  • User ID: set the user’s login ID or username.
  • User Role: select the level of access that the user should have in Case IQ. The user role will determine what the user is able to view and what actions they can take in the application. See User Roles for details.
  • Email: identify the user’s email address. The email field is critical, as it is generally used to send notifications and updates to the user regarding their cases, assignments, and account.
  • Language: determines the application interface language for the user. The default language is English.
  • Theme: choose the interface design for the user (see Themes).
  • Signature: create an email signature for the user. The user will be able to add the signature text you set when composing an email in Case IQ (see Change Account Settings on Profile Page for details on creating signatures).

To finish creating the account, click the Save button. However, if you need to create another user account, click the page menu and select Save and Copy instead. After saving a new user’s information, you will need to send the user their temporary password before they can log into Case IQ. From the User Account’s page, click the link in the “Send Temporary Password” warning banner.

The user will receive three emails from the system, including their username, a link to your Case IQ application, their temporary password, and a warning that their password will expire soon (see Logging in to Case IQ).

You may send another temporary password for a user account at any time, even after the user has logged in. From the Users page, click a user account row in the grid. Click the page menu on the User’s page and select “Send Temporary Password”. See more actions you can complete after adding a user account on A User Account's Page.

Automatic User Account Deactivation After 90 Days

The system will deactivate a user account if the user has not logged in after 90 days. A user cannot log in to Case IQ if their account is deactivated. Inactive accounts will not count against your user account usage limit.
