How can we help?

Review Potential Conflict of Interests

Depending on your application's settings, Case IQ may automatically check if any users in your application have the same name or email as one of your case's parties. The system may flag these matches for your review or automatically deny potentially implicated investigators from accessing the case. Your administrator can configure how the system handles user-party matches, see Automatically Deny Case Access for Potential Conflicts of Interest for instructions.

You can see matches the system finds in the case's "Access" tab. If a match requires your review, you will see an indicator icon () in the tab header. If you are the case owner, you will also receive a notification when a potential match has been found.

In the "Review" sub-tab, you can review potential user-party matches. All users in the Review grid can currently access the case.

  • To prevent the user from accessing the case, click the checkmark () button.
  • To keep the user's access to the case, click the X () button.

To allow someone automatically blocked by a user-party match to access the case, click the checkbox beside the user’s name in the "Denied" sub-tab. Then, click the Remove button in the grid header.

Some users may retain access to your case even if they have been matched to one of the case's parties. Your administrator has granted this user a special permission that prevents them from being blocked by matching with a party. Please contact your system administrator if you believe they should be restricted from accessing this case.
